Words Upon Words Game Manual

Build words from the tiles on the board to reach each round's target score. Every word you submit uses a Play, and Plays are one pool for the whole Run. Clear the round and the next one starts with a higher target. The Run ends when your Plays run out before a target is reached.

A round, step by step

  1. Tap or type tiles to spell a word in the submit bar. The score bar shows what it would score.
  2. Submit it. Its tiles leave, and the empty spots on the board refill from the bag.
  3. Keep going until the round's target is reached. Points past the target are overshoot points (OP).
  4. Clearing a round opens the level-up: a short summary, then Buff (spend OP to raise a perk's quality), then Perks (pick one of the offers, reroll them, or skip for +2 refreshes).

The board carries over to the next round: only its empty spots are filled, and every other tile you own goes back into the bag. A big enough overshoot pays the next round's target too: that round is skipped, and you get one more pick for it.
