Typing and words

Tap tiles, type their letters or drag them into the submit bar. A word must be in the dictionary and at least as long as the difficulty asks (see Modes and difficulties).

Dictionaries

  • English accepts British and American spellings (colour and color).
  • Hungarian uses its own dictionary, with inflected forms (házban, kenyeret). CS, GY, LY, NY, SZ, TY and ZS are single tiles and count as one letter; accented vowels count as vowels.
  • A word that isn't real costs nothing. If a real word is at most two typos away and the board can spell it, the game asks "Did you mean…?".

Which tile a letter picks

  • Typing a letter takes the most valuable matching tile: special tiles first, then the most points.
  • Multi-letter tiles (like -ING or SZ) win when you type their letters. Each of their letters counts toward the word's length and letter bonus.
  • An Initial is picked only as the first letter, a Dot only as the last.
  • A Joker can be any single letter and scores 0 points.

Building the word

  • Removing a letter from the front or the middle leaves a gap; only a word without gaps can be submitted. Hold or right-click an empty spot to close the gaps.
  • Hold or right-click a tile to put it at the front of the word.
  • Drag a tile onto any spot of the word, onto an upgrade to use it on that tile, or back to the board.
  • Refresh (hold it) swaps the whole board for new tiles and uses a refresh. Shuffle is free; hold it to sort A to Z, again for vowels first.

Free prefixes and suffixes

Some modifiers let a word start or end with an extra prefix or suffix on top of a real word (RE-, -ING…). The game strips it once, so the rest must be a real word.
