Convert to Initial
An Upgrade sits in the right column; each use spends one of its uses. Its Quality is rolled when it is offered, and Buff raises it one step at a time.

| Improved | Initial +1 | Turn a letter tile into an Initial tile, with +1 point. Doubles the word score when it is the first tile. |
| Flawless | Initial +2 | Turn a letter tile into an Initial tile, with +2 points. Doubles the word score when it is the first tile. |
| Marvelous | Initial +3 | Turn a letter tile into an Initial tile, with +3 points. Doubles the word score when it is the first tile. |
| Perfect | Initial +4 | Turn a letter tile into an Initial tile, with +4 points. Doubles the word score when it is the first tile. |
Changes
- v0.245.0 · 2026-10-24 Convert to Initial no longer works on an Exclamation tile: an Exclamation ends the word, an Initial starts it.
- v0.205.0 · 2026-10-23 Bold tiles are now called Initials (the gift is Initials, the upgrade Convert to Initial): they still double the word when they come first.
